A one-day hands-on workshop for staff and PGRs, covering practical tools and workflows for AI-assisted coding before an afternoon mini-hackathon and show-and-tell session.

Before the day: Please follow the workshop setup guide to install the required software on your laptop. It has step-by-step instructions for Windows, macOS and Linux.

Overview

This one-day workshop will equip attendees with a practical understanding of tools and approaches for AI-assisted coding and software development.

Tutorial sessions during the morning will cover everything from setting up agentic coding tools on your device to considering different workflows for getting the best out of these tools.

During the afternoon, we will run an agentic coding mini-hackathon, giving you the chance to put your agentic coding skills into action and create some software.

At the end of the day, we will run a hackathon show-and-tell session where attendees can present their software creations and get feedback.

Who should attend?

This event is for staff and PGRs. Existing coding experience will be helpful, but it is not a strict requirement.

You will need to bring your own laptop to participate. Please follow the workshop setup guide to install the necessary software and request access before the day, so that we can get the most out of the day without spending workshop time on technical setup. The guide covers Windows, macOS and Linux.
